How to Record Court Cracks Before an Evaluation

Published · Boston Tennis & Sports Court Company

Court cracks vary in length, width, pattern and location. A clear record helps a contractor understand observations while leaving diagnosis and repair selection to evaluation.

This guide prepares a useful first conversation while leaving diagnosis, engineering, product selection, price, schedule and suitability to site-specific review.

Take orientation photographs

Photograph the full court from several corners, then close details. The court repair page explains service context.

Label location and pattern

Use a court sketch or numbered list. Record whether observations are near a baseline, sideline, net, fence or transition.

Record timing and changes

Note when the crack was observed and whether prior photographs show it. Connect broad wear questions to resurfacing.

Include water and use

Note standing water, low areas, sports, frequency of use and access. The condition checklist can organize the record.

Prepare the packet

Include orientation photos, numbered details, a sketch, dates, prior images and water observations.

Review the relevant service areas, then contact Boston Tennis to discuss the appropriate next step.
